How To Use A Quick Product Launch To Generate Immediate Sales For A Product That Doesn’t Exist Yet

If you’d like a quick boost to your sales and profits without spending a dime on marketing or advertising, the quick Product Launch strategy I’m about to share with you takes some beating.

If you’re at all familiar with Jeff Walker’s Product Launch Formula, you’ll know that one of his favourite methods is what he calls his Quick Launch.

While the way Jeff does it is awesome, I have developed an even quicker way to bring in a rush of profitable sales with less work and effort.

In fact, my hope for you if you choose to implement what I share here is that you’ll make enough money to be able to pay for Jeff’s flagship Product Launch Formula training when he next opens it up for enrolment.

Of course you don’t have to grab PLF (you could of course spend the extra money on beer and candy bars, or whatever else you like), but it will certainly help you to grow your business if you do.

OK, so let’s get started…

The Backstory

I’ve been an active technical analyst, trader and investor for the last 30 years, and over that time I’ve developed a reliable system for finding the start of fast moving trends in stocks, commodities and other markets.

I’d thought about putting what I’ve learned into a high ticket program for years, but never got around to it.

Anyhow a few weeks ago I came across Katrina Ruth and really liked what she was sharing with her audience. I liked her message so much I grabbed one of her products to give to my daughter because I thought it might help her to grow her business.

My daughter went through just some of the program and it lit a fire in her that is beautiful to behold. She took what she learned and created a Facebook Page and a Podcast called Mindset Mastery, started interviewing awesome people, and is now kicking arse in the market she loves which is helping people share their stories through video.

After watching my daughter move ahead in leaps and bounds, I finally decided to get off my backside and do something about creating a high ticket course.

Step 1 – Test The Demand For The Product

I decided to use a Seed Launch to create the content because I wanted to have as much feedback on what people in my target marketed actually wanted instead of just creating something and hoping they would buy it.

One of the great things about using a Seed Launch is you don’t have to create a program if there’s no demand for it. Jeff teaches to send out an email he calls a ‘Shot across the bow’ and see if anybody is interested.

If there’s no interest, you don’t go ahead with the product which saves you weeks or months of unnecessary work. If there is interest, you survey the people who responded and ask them what they want to learn.

For the first ‘Shot across the bow’ I made a single Facebook post in a group I started a couple of years ago with around 2,700 members.

I have been posting great info for members every few days over those couple of years but have never offered them anything to buy or promoted an affiliate product to them, mainly because most of the stuff in the trading and investing market is overpriced crap and I really want to look after members by actually helping them.

About 50 people are quite active, but I know I get hundreds of other people reading the posts but not liking or commenting.

Step 2 – Demand? Check! Let’s Create An Offer

The response honestly surprised me. A whole bunch of people left Facebook, opened their email and send me a message with Livermore in the subject line.

Watching those emails come in was so exciting because I knew I had a potential winner on my hands.

If nobody had asked for more information I would have killed the idea right there and saved myself a bunch of time, energy and disappointment.

But with so many people raising their hands after just ONE Facebook post, it looked like the project might be a winner.

With that in mind, when people emailed asking for more information, I sent them this message, again inspired by Dean Jackson:

As I mentioned I’m starting a new TA Case Study Group this week and I’m looking for a handful of people to work with to create some successful case-studies before our official launch of the new Practical Gann Mastery program.

To give you some context, this quote from Page 1 of Jesse Livermore’s book Reminiscences of a Stock Operator had a profound effect on me when I first read it a long time ago:

“I noticed that in advances as well as declines, stock prices were apt to show certain habits, so to speak”…

I think knowing what Livermore meant by ‘certain habits’ is the secret to understanding how markets move. 

I’ve been posting setups in the Trend Traders Club Facebook Group for the last couple of years, and the results for many of the setups have been amazing. The reason I’m running this program is because lots of people have asked for help in fine tuning their analysis skills so they can do the same thing for themselves.

So starting this week I’m going to work with a small case study group to create a more advanced training program than what’s covered in the free Members training.

This is not going to be ‘The complete course on understanding Gann and Elliott Wave analysis.’ 

Most courses like that focus on the esoteric and long term forecasting side of what Gann and Elliott taught because it’s seen as ‘sexy’. The trouble is for most people all of that ‘woo woo’ stuff is too difficult to get your head around or impractical to use in the real world.

Instead this will be the 95/5 version where we’ll only cover the most powerful, most practical things you need to succeed. 

The ’certain habits’ Jessie was talking about.

Here’s some of what we’re going to work on:

1. We’ll start by making sure you have a complete understanding of how to determine the position of any market so you will know with a high degree of confidence IF a valid trend is unfolding, and if so where you are positioned within that trend. 

You will know how to find and participate in fast moving trends (good) while staying out when markets are not trending (bad). There are some other cool techniques I’ll share with you that will put your understanding of trends on steroids.

2. Next, we’ll dig into understanding TIME. As Gann said Time is more important than price, and understanding how to Time markets is the factor I get more questions about than anything else. You’ll be able to know in advance where market turning points are likely to occur.

The old adage ‘The trend is your friend’ is true… unless the trend is about to end. I’ll show you how I was able to confidently enter the AUD/USD long at the March 2020 low, buy the May 15th 2020 low in the EUR/USD, sell at the February 2020 high in the SPX and buy at the March 2020 low. Plus there will be many more examples.

3. We will look at how Gann’s work dovetails with Elliott Wave analysis so you’ll be able to accurately enter Elliott Wave 3’s and 5’s when they are first starting. Knowing when a market is in Wave 3 or 5 allows us to use leverage and/or compound with additional positions with safety and low capital exposure. I have never discussed compounding before. It is extremely powerful…

4. We’ll focus on developing your own personal action plan, something you are completely comfortable with, which is the key to being able to act on signals and hold a position in a trending market… This ability alone will be a big breakthrough for you.

5. Ongoing video training updates, Special Reports and email coaching lessons covering opportunities and special situations as they develop in the markets.

Any one of these things can move the needle immediately for you, and my experience is that ONE of these is going to resonate with you and stand out as the BIG opportunity for you specifically… so we’ll be able to spend more time on that one with you.

As you can see, this is a VERY long email. It didn’t matter because just over half of the people who enquired wrote back and said “I’m IN”.

It was so exciting to see all of those emails come in with the words I had asked people to use. This shows people are able to follow instructions making them ideal students and increasing the chances they will follow through (moved forward by one of the mental triggers Jeff Walker teaches in PLF called ‘Commitment and Consistency).

That was it. I’ve pasted the first page of Paypal results in a screen shot below. You can see the refund for my test sale, and a transfer to my Australian bank account in $A. There’s a tiny Aweber commission there as well.

Note that all of the sales came in over a short period and I was able to start the program straight away. This simple email sequence took just a few days to implement, confirmed there was demand for a product that didn’t exist yet.

Next Steps

So where to next?

Well, just to confirm I really was onto something, I used the same strategy again in the same group and I sent a brief invitation email based on the wording of the Facebook post above to my small email database and got similar results.

The beauty of this strategy is it’s totally under the radar. It’s what Frank Kern calls an ‘Invisible Offer’ because only the people who reply back to you get to see the offer. 

To everybody else it’s not seen as a pitch because all they see is the invitation.

So you can continue sending your newsletter and other pure content emails like you already do, but I recommend you try this once a month and see what happens.

It costs you nothing by way of marketing costs, and I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the results.

The keys are having a targeted audience and an irresistible offer that appeals to them.

How do you know what they want? Ask people on your email list about their biggest problems and frustrations.

You could send them to a one-question survey and ask them something like:

When it comes to [your market – e.g. finding profitable stock market trends], what is your biggest problem or frustration right now?

The answers people give you will tell you what you need to focus on to make your product or service more desirable, and the solutions to focus on in your marketing.

Another opportunity the success of this campaign gives me is to go to other people in my market and offer to do a JV with them to use the campaign to promote their product or service to their prospects and customers.

The beauty of this simple campaign is it does what Dean Jackson calls ‘Make your invisible prospects visible” because only people who are interested put their hands up to ask you for more information.

If you make a relevant, irresistible offer to those people, a lot of them are likely to take you up on it.

The next step is to package up all of the content the Seed Launch members helped me create into a high value course and offer it using an Evergreen Launch through affiliate partners for $997.

I hope this gives you some ideas for how to use a Facebook post and a couple of emails to generate nearly A$10,000 for a Seed Launch in 4 days from a standing start.

How To Launch A New Training Program Into A Global Business

A subscriber emailed a few days ago and asked for some ideas on how she could use Product launch Formula to launch a new training program to grow her business. Here offer currently involves showing businesses a very specific way to find money that is owing to them they didn’t know was rightfully theirs.

I told her I thought she was providing a highly ethical and valuable service and she deserved a lot of praise for helping people out in the way she was.

While she could use the PLF process to launch her own business because there is so much demand for this type of thing after COVID-19 has shut down or damaged so many formerly profitable businesses, I suggested she might also consider running a Seed Launch for a course showing other people how to do what she is doing to help many more businesses than she could ever reach on her own.

If she packaged her knowledge and systems into a program that helped other people start a business doing the same thing, she could charge an upfront fee for the training and systems, plus an annual licensing fee for the continued use of the materials she created.

A program like this could have modules that might include:

  • Her secret sources for finding potential clients
  • Marketing materials to get those clients to raise their hands and say they wanted help
  • The step by step process for finding the money owed
  • Agreements and documents to make sure the student gets paid
  • A private Slack or Facebook group where she shares help, ideas and success stories with other members
  • Live calls or Zoom meetings every so often to update members on the latest strategies, share field reports from other members, and answer any questions
  • Anything else that helps members to get the results she is currently getting

Her lead magnet for building an email prospect list could be a PDF guide that takes people through the ‘what’ of the service she provides and highlights the huge opportunity for them to make good money with low overheads while helping other people.

Then the paid program could offer the step-by-step ‘how’ so people can start a business inexpensively, work from home, and supplement their income or even replace it.

If she offered a limited number of licenses in each city you might end up with a feeding frenzy of customers who don’t want to miss out.

Once she had some successful licensees, she could offer County or State Distributer Licenses to entrepreneurs who already have a client base, or who know how to generate leads and help and manage the people who purchase the licenses.

These Distributers would be responsible for everything in their area and would have to comply with the terms and conditions she developed so the results their clients get are consistent.

She could sell these Distributer Licenses for 10 – 30 or more times the price of her course and charge ongoing annual royalties on them as well. The Distributers would get the majority of each up-front fee and the ongoing royalties from each licensee, and they would share part of that income with her each month.

Eventually she might want to create Master Licenses for large sectors of the population and charge 100 to 1000 times the price of the basic course.

She could hire commission sales people to sell the Distributer and Master license all over the country and eventually the world, and give the salespeople a commission and override on all sales they make.

So as you can see, a simple idea for a course can be leveraged into a national or global business while helping thousands of business owners by providing a much needed and highly valuable service.

I hope this gives you some ideas for where you could take your course after you use Jeff Walker’s Product Launch Formula process to launch it.

Internal Launch Case Study – How To Use Product Launch Formula In The Trading Market

It doesn’t matter whether your business is a startup or you have been established for many years, you can use an Internal Launch as laid out in Product Launch Formula to generate a huge lift in sales and profits, help you build an email database of prospects and customers who will buy from you again in the future, and put your business on a solid footing faster than any other strategy.

And it doesn’t matter if your marketing has had less than stellar results in the past, or if you’ve taken the advice of so called ‘experts’ or a marketing agency that promised you the world and then handed you an Atlas, you can launch a brand new product profitably in one or two weeks instead of months or years.

In this post I’m going to share exactly how I used an Internal Launch to generate around $20 per subscriber in net profit over a period of 2 weeks using nothing but a few Facebook posts and an email sequence (which you will see in full below) to a small email list.

Using The Product Launch Formula Process To Launch An Information Product

Over the last few weeks I’ve been using the Product Launch Formula process to run an Internal Launch for a training program I created (using a Seed Launch) that teaches people how to use Technical Analysis on stocks, commodities, indexes and other markets.

If you’re not sure what Technical Analysis is, it’s using price charts to determine where the price of a stock or some other market is likely to go over the next few days or weeks. As you can imagine, it is a valuable skill to have and when you get it right it is possible to virtually create income at will.

Creating The Program Using A Seed Launch

I originally used a Seed Launch to create the course content where I offered 6 live Zoom Webinars with several follow up Zoom Q&A meetings. Some of my students have done exceptionally well, but others have struggled despite having my help to understand what to do.

Because the first live program was fun to do and was so well received, I ran it two more times. Both of these times I had new members sign up while existing members were allowed to join in free of charge.

By the third iteration, the content was nailed down and I had filled in any gaps I found in the knowledge I wanted to share as we went through the training.

Once the content was all edited and uploaded to a new membership site run on the Xperiencify Platform, I was ready to launch a higher ticket Mentoring Program where students get even more access to me in addition to all of the training created during the Seed Launches.

I started this launch in the same way Jeff Walker does most of his. I asked my audience what I could do to help them. Here’s what Jeff calls the ‘Shot Across The Bow’ email asking for their feedback:

As you can see, the email is friendly and coming from a place of service. If you have any kind of relationship with people on your email list, in your Facebook Group, or your followers on social media, you can frame a similar message asking for their help and feedback.

We want to do this because we want to make sure of two things:

  1. That your audience feels a sense of ownership in the end result because they helped you to create the training or program, and
  2. We want to make sure we don’t leave anything critical out of our Pre Launch Videos or the product itself

Each video had links back to the previous videos, and I asked people to go back and watch the previous videos first if they haven’t done so yet.

It’s critical that people watch all of your PLC videos in the order you create them, because when they are done right they build on each other, leading your prospects seamlessly towards the conclusion they need to invest in your product or service if they want to solve their entire problem or achieve a complete solution.

Over the next couple of days I answered questions from subscribers in the Facebook group and by email and most people said they found the second video very helpful.

You have to be very careful to stress you are not making income claims in your marketing because you can get into strife with all kinds of three letter agencies if you do. Be SUPER careful that you don’t do that.

The next day I shared another Case Study video showing one of the most popular markets my audience is interested in. This again showed verifiable proof that what I have been sharing worked.

Proof of Concept like this is critical if you want to sell anything for more than a few bucks. People have been disappointed a thousand times before and want to know they won’t be wasting their time if they sign up for your product or service. The main reason is because while they can always get more money, their time is a scarce resource and is something they can never get back.

People knew that what I was sharing with them worked because I had given them undeniable proof. The idea behind this email was to stress how much certainty people could have once they understood how the market moved and they were able to apply what they would learn in the program.

The next day I sent another Case Study video showing something that was actually happening in the market right at that moment. Here’s that message:

In this post Trend Traders Club group yesterday https://www.facebook.com/…/tren…/posts/4355760191126085/ I said it looks like EUR/USD may have completed an abc correction at the 50% retracement.

When I made yesterday’s post I wasn’t already long, the post was to alert everybody to the potential for an abc correction and counter trend low near the 50% retracement.

As I’ve said in the training videos, I am not a financial advisor or broker so this is as close as I can get to screaming BUY THE EURO without actually saying it.

Looking at the charts above, the market made its counter trend low right at the 50% retracement and then made a higher Swing high followed by a higher Swing low.

This is the very definition of an uptrend according to Gann.

I entered long with two seperate positions as the 1 hour Swing chart turned back up creating the first higher low (Gann said “The safest place to buy is the first higher low).

As you can see, those entries are taken at the first higher low of the first higher low after a 50% retracement.

This is a high probability setup with very low risk because the stop loss is just below the Wave 2 or B Swing low.

The Euro now looks like it is rallying in a 5 Wave trend and the fact that the minor Wave 1 was taken out within just 2 bars indicates it is a minor Wave 3 of 3.

Because the trend looked so strong, I took an additional position just after the minor Wave 1 high was exceeded.

Everything you’ve learned in the recent training videos is on display here in real life in real time…

  • The initial entries right at the start of the current uptrend
  • Taking some off the table at the end of Wave 1 or A
  • Entering again right at the 50% retracement as the uptrend resumed
  • Compounding into a strongly trending market

Of course we have no way of knowing what will happen next.

The market could turn around and go the other way.

However by treating every setup as just another opportunity in the INFINITE GAME it doesn’t matter what happens with this one.

There are thousands more to look forward to.

And because we are following a set of rules that have proven themselves over time, we will eventually be on board some major trends that last weeks or months…

After a minor correction to just above the .618 A2 rallied strongly again, pulled back in a 2-day counter trend, and today rallied to a new high for this move.

While anything can happen, at the moment this is the essence of a strongly trending stock.

This is exactly the type of thing we look for because price moves away from our entry quickly reducing our risk and allowing us to compound safely.

This final email resulted in 6 more members coming on board using the payment plan, and one more person who had been on the fence paying in full.

This is what you will usually see. When you open up your shopping cart you will have the super keen people join you right away. Then as you go through your Open Cart period a few sales will trickle in as long as you keep reminding people about your launch.

Then as your deadline approaches you will see a burst of sales, with a final flurry just before the Shopping Cart closes. There’s nothing like a deadline to force people to make a decision.

How To Convert MANY More People Into Buyers

So that was the final email in the sequence and we’ll get to the results shortly, but first I wanted to share something that could really move the needle for you if you are selling a product or service that is medium to high ticket.

As you will have seen in PLC video 4 and in some of the emails, rather than just giving people a ‘Buy Now’ link, I asked them to contact me by email and let them know they would have to complete an application if they wanted to join the Program.

I did this because I am guaranteeing their results and offering a full refund if I don’t perform, so I wanted to qualify people before I admitted them into my close knit community of very successful traders and investors.

I qualified each person through an email conversation and only admitted the people I was confident I could help to become successful.

That was the end of the process…

NOTE: By creating ‘Friction’ like this you could potentially reduce your response rate, but you will have better qualified, more committed clients and customers who do the work, get results, and don’t ask for refunds.

Some of the conversations were much shorter than the one with Stephen (EG. please send me the link), some were longer, but virtually every person I corresponded with in this way became a member.

You simply cannot get high conversion numbers like this by just putting a Payment link on a website and hoping for the best.

Can you see how powerful it is to find out what each person’s needs are and meet them if at all possible so they see joining your program as a no-brainer?

Stephen went from “I can’t afford it” to “I paid the first $200 today” in just a couple of days. And he wasn’t the only one.

Now it’s up to me to help Stephen succeed and I’m sure he will because he is committed to the process.

The Results

Below I’ve shared a screen shot of some of the orders of people who joined the Program. You can see the burst of orders on the last day when I announced the 6-pay plan.

Use Product Launch Formula

By the time it’s all said and done, this Internal Launch will generate around A$19,000 in net profit which is not bad considering I don’t have a large email list. It works out to around $20 per subscriber if all of the payment plan clients continue and pay all of their instalments.

The biggest benefit though is now that I have all of the Pre Launch Content and email messages created and tested so I know they convert, I can use them to put together an Evergreen Launch that will be able to generate sales day in, day out, indefinitely.

All it will take is running some ads to put people into the front-end of the funnel, and then have email (or Facebook Messenger or SMS) conversations with the people who are interested in joining. Plus I can run the live launch 3 or 4 times a year if I want to at a higher price (because they get access to me personally) to generate more clients.

Eventually I may run a JV Launch, but I’ll need to employ and train a couple of people to hold the email/messenger/SMS conversations with prospects because I Just won’t have time to do it all myself.

Things I Learned For Next Time

There are a few things I will do differently next time:

  •  I will send people to Facebook Messenger or use SMS for the Conversational Close because it can be more personal
  • I may trial a Chat Bot to pre-qualify people because the first message I sent out requesting more information was virtually the same for everyone
  • I will space the core PLC videos more closely together to keep the momentum moving along better
  • I will release the 6-payment program earlier because it probably cost me sales by leaving it to the last day
  • I will send more messages on the final day (I only sent one this time) because done right you can often double your sales in the last few hours of the last day. Jeff recommends 4 messages on the final day but it’s up to you if that sounds a little aggressive

If you are launching a membership site or some kind of program involving continuity (a SAAS for example) another great way to use bonuses is to retain members and keep them coming back again and again. Here are the keys to this method:

    1. Space out multiple bonuses over a period of time. For example, if you have a fixed-term membership that lasts for 12 months, you might give members the first bonus immediately, followed by a new bonus every two or three months. You can also give your best bonus as a “graduation bonus” for those who stay with you through the entire training.
    2. Be sure your bonuses are highly attractive. This strategy only works if your bonuses are valuable and something that your members really want. That means you have to do some market research so you have a better understanding of what your audience wants. So for example, if your market is already purchasing a certain type of product, then giving them a product similar to what people are buying, or even a better version, would be a great bonus.

3. To Increase ‘Stick’ And Reduce Refunds

There are two ways to increase the ‘stick rate’ of your offer and reduce refunds with bonuses:

  1. Offer a surprise bonus. Give buyers an unannounced bonus on the download page or in a followup email. This can help you to exceed your customers’ expectations, which leads to higher customer satisfaction and lower refund rages.
  2. Offer a delayed bonus. The idea here is to announce the bonus, but let customers know the bonus will be sent to them after a certain time period (which should be after the refund period has expired).

4. Motivate Your Affiliates To Promote Your Product Launch

Want to see a quick boost to your sales? Then offer your affiliates an awesome bonus for good performance. In most cases, using cash as a bonus will get you the best results. Most of the big launches have huge cash prizes for the top couple of affiliates, and nice prizes for the rest of the top 10.

Here are three popular ways to use this method:

  1. Create an affiliate contest and offer a cash bonus to the top five or ten affiliates. You might also create a random drawing where everyone who makes at least two sales during the contest period is eligible to win.
  2. Create an lead generation contest and offer a smaller cash bonus to the top five people. Your goal with this strategy is to encourage your affiliates to work overtime helping you grow your email list. As you know, a product launch is one of the best ways to quickly grow your list. One of the biggest assets you’ll end up with from using the Product Launch Formula process to do a JV Launch is the email list you build from all the traffic your affiliate partners send you.

The way you can set yourself apart is by offering an in-demand, valuable bonus to anyone who purchases the affiliate product you are promoting through your link. Not only does this boost conversions on the frontend, it also gives you a chance to make sales on the backend via offers you embed inside the bonus.

In other words, embed links to your other products and services (or affiliate offers) inside the product you are giving away as a bonus, and when people purchase something from a link in your bonus, you get paid.

For example, if you have a sales page, then you’ll want to add bonuses to boost conversions.

4 More Ways To Create Profitable Products To Launch To Your Audience

In this previous post, we talked about 4 easy ways to have other people help you create products you can launch using Product Launch Formula. In this post we’ll look at 4 more ways to create profitable products quickly with very little work

Last time we discussed having somebody interview you and record it, but an additional way to create a product quickly is for you to interview another expert in your field.

Just as with the previous example, you can either interview this person privately, or you can do it via a live teleconference with other people listening in.

Either way, you’ll have the recordings and transcript to sell using a product launch, or to give away in whole or in part.

Tip: You can create a joint venture where you “swap” interviews with your partner. That means you interview your partner, and in exchange he or she interviews you.

After a couple of hours on the phone, you will have created two separate products that you can both sell to your audiences.

The key to creating a great end product is to ensure you’ve done the right preparation upfront.

You’ll want to give your JV partner an outline that lets them know the general flow of the call, as well as examples of the types of questions you might ask.

However, you should not script the call. Don’t give your partner the exact outline with the exact questions you intend to ask.

And be sure your partner knows that any outline you provide is merely a rough outline, otherwise both of you will sound unnatural and robotic as the interview progresses, which will significantly devalue your finished products.

The point is that you’ll want to prepare your partner so that they know what to expect. If they know what to expect, they’ll be more comfortable during the call. This preparation is especially important if you’re working with someone who doesn’t usually do interviews.

Here are two more tips for creating a great interview:

1 – Talk to your partner beforehand. If you don’t know each other that well (or at all), it’s a good idea to chat on the phone for a while the day before. You’ll feel more comfortable with each other, which will make your phone interview go a lot more smoothly.

2 – Send out reminders to your partner. It’s up to you to make sure your partner has all the information they need about the call, such as the exact time, date and the phone number they needs to dial if it’s a conference call.

You’ll want to provide this information immediately, then send a reminder a few days before the call, and a final reminder within 24 hours of the call. Your intervene is likely to be busy, so you need to make sure they give your interview the priority it needs.

Idea 6. Invite A Panel of Experts To Join A Teleseminar

We’ve just talked about creating a teleseminar by interviewing one person, but you can take this idea even further by putting together a panel of experts and create a 60 to 90 minute teleseminar.

Once again, you not only have the live call to sell as a product (with inbuilt scarcity since it has a fixed deadline), you’ll also get to sell the recordings when the call is over.

This is one case where “the more, the merrier” does not apply.

If you invite too many experts, then some people on your panel won’t get a chance to talk. Or even worse, the call could end up becoming a chaotic shambles because everyone will try to talk over one another. That’s why it’s a good idea to limit your panel to roughly three experts.

The key to coming up with a great panel is to create some diversity. That means you’ll want to pull together a group of experts who’re likely to disagree with each other on some points.

We’re not talking about them getting into heated arguments here, but rather enough disagreement to create a lively debate.

Example: Let’s suppose you’re creating a panel of experts to talk about losing Weight. You might invite these experts:

  • Somebody from a group such as Weight Watchers. This person would likely focus on the benefits of consistent portion control as the secret to losing weight.
  • A low-carb expert who would focus on offering dieting tips that revolve around eating low-carb foods.
  • A bodybuilder who would talk about the importance of eating a “clean,” balanced diet, plus doing regular cardio and weight lifting to build lean muscle.

The slightly different viewpoints would no doubt generate some good discussion around the topic, without the participants coming to blows.

So what happens if you have more than three experts that you’d like to get on the phone with you?

Simple – you just use this next product-creation idea…

Idea 7. Create a Call Series

Your product doesn’t need to consist of just one call. Instead, you can create a product with a higher perceived value by creating a series of calls.

This series can consist of:

  • Individual experts who you interview
  • Having other experts interview you
  • Interviews with a panel of experts
  • Or a mix of interviews with individuals and panels

In order to sell a series of calls as one product, the calls need to be tightly related.

Example: Let’s say you invite six traffic-generation experts for six individual interviews. You might have:

  • Someone who’s an expert with social media
  • A SEO (search engine optimization) expert
  • An expert blogging expert
  • A JV manager or affiliate marketing expert
  • A content marketing expert
  • An expert in getting free publicity

You can do hold call a week for a 6-week call series called “Six Secrets To Profitable Marketing” or “6 Weeks To A More Profitable Business” or “6 Ways to Quickly Grow Your Sales And Profits”.

So as you can see, there are a variety of ways for you to create text, audio and video products and even hold profitable live events with your JV partners.

In some cases – such as with live events – you can even turn one product into two products (the live event and the recordings).

Of course, having a product is one thing. Getting it to market in the fastest and most profitable way is something else entirely.

4 Simple Ideas For Creating A Super Fast Product Launch

Despite our best efforts, when we are thinking of developing a new product and using Product Launch Formula to release it, finding the time to do everything required can be really difficult.

And yet one of the biggest ah-ha moments I ever had was when I heard Joe Vitale say “Money loves speed”…

So when you have a to-do list that includes creating the product itself, coming up with relevant bonuses, creating the marketing materials, finding JV partners, and everything else, it can be daunting.

But there are ways you can partner up with other people and get their help to create high-quality products, bonuses, and marketing materials. And when you set things up correctly, you can even get their help for free.

Here are 4 ways you can use right now to come up with awesome products you can launch using PLF within just a few days…

1. Work With Partners To Create An Ebook Or Special Report

You can contact one or more well known experts in your market and gather them all together to create a valuable report or ebook. Once it’s done, you can all promote the product to your audiences through a Product Launch Formula style launch, and share in the profits it generates.

There are two different ways to approach this task:

1 – To make it as easy as possible for your partners, you could do the bulk of the work and list each partner as a co-author.

Why would you do this? Simple: If you’re trying to get yourself established as an expert or a prominent player in your niche market, then associating your name with other influential marketers will boost your credibility and reputation. And another marketer will agree to it because they get a new product to promote with a minimum amount of work on their part.

2 – On the other hand, each partner could do an equal amount of work, and each of you takes equal credit and you both or all end up with a product that you can sell.

Naturally if you have multiple authors helping you create the product, say a dozen or more partners, then consider these two different ways for creating a report or ebook.

Example: For illustration purposes, let’s say you’re writing a book about building an online business. Here’s how you might approach this project:

Each partner could writes one chapter covering the topic of their individual expertise. So you would have chapters on traffic generation methods such as SEO, paid media such as Facebook and Google Adwords, social media such as Facebook Groups and Instagram, blogging, and other topics. You’d ask experts on each of those topics to create a chapter covering their best strategies for you.

Each partner would answer the same question. Here you might ask everyone a question such as “If you only had $100 to generate as many targeted prospects to your site as possible, what would you do?”

If you ask a wide range of experts that same question, you’ll get a diverse set of answers, which will make for a helpful and entertaining product.

The benefits for each partner include:

  • Getting a byline at the end of their article where they can promote their lead agent or one of their offers
  • Every partner either gets the rights to sell the product, or you give them a “super affiliate” commission (such as 75% or 90%) to sell it on your behalf
  • Those people who’re newer to the niche can get their names printed alongside known experts which will give them some brand recognition and social proof

But what if your potential partners don’t like to write. Then you might consider…

2. Doing a Joint Venture Webinar

A super quick way to create a valuable product is to gather together one or more partners to do a webinar for anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours.

You can use a stable platform like GoToWebinar.com or Zoom.com, and have the system record the event for you.

The advantage of doing a webinar is that you have the ability to show videos or screen captures with your audience.

For example:

  • You could hold a web design webinar where you show participants exactly how to download, install and use an HTML editor to design a website.
  • You can do a blogging webinar where you show step-by-step how to set up and optimise a blog. Your viewers can even follow along on their own computer to set up their first blog if they want to.
  • You can run a copywriting webinar, and critique a sales letter or some of the participant’s email copy live.

In these examples I say “you,” but of course I’m referring to you or your JV partner.

Example: So, for example, you can ask a copywriting expert to do a webinar with you. You can spend part of the time interviewing him, part of the time having him do a live critique and part of the time fielding questions.

Another advantage is that you’ll end up creating two profitable products you can launch immediately:

The live webinar itself. This is valuable because your participants have a chance to ask questions of the presenters personally. You can offer this webinar as a paid event through a Quick Launch or Seed Launch, or you might even use some of the content as a lead-generating front end offer.

The recorded webinar. You and your partners can sell the recordings outright after you’ve held the webinar, you could use them as bonuses for your other paid products, or even give some or all of the event away to people who join your mailing list.

3. Hold An Offline Event

What you could do here is put together a panel of experts for a live weekend workshop at a local hotel or another place with a conference or convention center.

Your workshop might include:

  • Seminars and/or lectures
  • Breakout workshops with individual speakers
  • Informal “meet and greets” with the experts
  • Catered morning and afternoon teas and/or even meals

The advantages of holding a workshop are twofold:

1 – Workshops have a very high perceived value. That’s why you’ll see high ticket prices attached to these events, ranging from a couple hundred dollars to several thousand dollars for admission.

2 – You’ll have the recordings. Since you’ll likely end up with a multiple-DVD collection just from a one weekend Seminar, the collection tends to be valuable (it will be valued at up to several hundred or even thousands of dollars, depending on the topic).

There are downsides of course, which are all the organisational challenges involved as well as the higher overhead expenses.

Not only do you have to organise your speakers, you have to arrange for and pay for a conference room, also pay for catering if you are including it for the event.

You’ll also need to ensure your speakers have the materials and facilities they need to give their best presentations. Most conference centers provide microphones and most of the other technology your presenters will need to deliver for you.

So what’s in it for the presenters?

The big benefit is that they can make an offer for their products from the stage at the end of their talks. They can make sales at the back of the room for the duration of the Seminar or Conference.

Then they’ll be able to make additional sales once you start selling or otherwise distributing the seminar recordings. These sorts of events can be very lucrative for everyone concerned.

4. Arrange For Someone To Interview You

You can hold interviews over the phone in one of two ways:

1 – Just you and the interviewer. This is the easier option because there is far less pressure, since you won’t have an audience listening in. If you are someone who tends to clam up when you know you are being recorded live, you may not able to give your best. Once you’ve finished the recording, you’ll then sell or giveaway the finished product (and/or the transcripts).

2 – With an audience. With this option you create a live teleseminar event, which can turn into an awesome product with the right interviewer who can really draw out the best information from you. You also have the recording as a second product.

Tip: You can also transcribe the recordings of your interview to create a text product. You can sell the transcriptions along with the recordings which is guaranteed to boost the perceived value of your product. Plus, providing transcriptions helps people who prefer to read, along with your deaf or hard-of-hearing customers.

The main reason to get someone else to interview you is that it establishes YOU as an expert. So if you’re new to the niche, it’s a great way to get established and start building a good reputation.

And your reputation will grow even further if you have an influential person in the niche conducting your interview.

Tip: You can also hold teleseminars and record them using a service like e-teleconferencing.com, which allows you to have people call the bridge line and listen in.

To make it as easy as possible for your interviewer, you should give them list of questions you’d like them ask you. Make sure to encourage the interviewer to ask his own questions (including spontaneous follow up questions) as well, which will make for a smoother, more natural-sounding interview.

Finally, there’s a good chance your interview is going to have a few glitches, such as times where you need to pause because the dog next door is barking, or perhaps when the two of you digress from the main topic. You can easily clean up these glitches using a sound file editor such as Audacity

As you can see, there are plenty of ways you can make use of the “Money loves Speed” principle to quickly create products with other people’s help.

Post Product Launch Strategy – 7 Proven Steps That Compel Your Customers To Buy More Stuff More Often

Using the Product Launch Strategy Jeff Walker teaches in PLF is an awesome way to generate a bunch of sales quickly, while building the bond you have with your audience.

But honestly, a launch takes a LOT of work, and you don’t want to be constantly ‘launching’ stuff or your readers will end up with ‘launch fatigue’ and just stop opening your messages.

So what do you do in those times between your launches to keep up the momentum, keep your audience happy, and make more money?

Well in addition to just sending them awesome content that helps them improve their lives, or running regular Flash Sales (as we discuss here), and taking advantage of some of these 17 was to generate more sales with your autoresponder

…one great idea that’s inexpensive and works like magic is to spend some time optimising your order forms for when somebody does buy from you (this will make your affiliates LOVE you too).

When you think about it, by the time somebody gets from somewhere else online to your website, reads your content, decides to buy and arrives at your order form, you have a prospect with a credit card already in their hot little hand, and they are in a buying frame of mind.

That means there’s a good chance if you put another related offer in front of them while they are going through your order process (the proverbial, “would you like fries with that?”), they’ll often be happy to take it.

And when you get the ‘order form bump’ or up-sell offer right, you’ll start making more money with every customer who comes to your website, or walks through your door.

So what’s the secret to creating a backend or upsell offer that gets your prospects clicking the “Yes, Add This To My Order” button on your order page?

Use this 7-Step Product Launch Strategy

1. Make Sure the Up-sell Adds To And Enhances The Main Offer

The very first thing you need to do is make sure any upsell you offer is tightly related to the main offer. The best way to do it is to make it not only closely related, but something that actually enhances the use, utility, or enjoyment of the thing they purchased in your main offer.

A classic example is McDonalds. When you order a Big Mac, any well-trained staff member will ask if you want fries and/or a drink with that. It clearly works because a lot of people say yes to this offer, because if you’re into fast food, fries and a drink enhance the enjoyment of your burger.

Now you can do the same thing regardless of what you’re selling. For example:

  • If you’re selling a weight loss app, you could offer a low-fat cookbook or a collection of smoothie recipes as an up-sell on your order form
  • If your main offer is an email copywriting course, you can offer a number of personal copy critiques on the backend
  • If your main product is all about setting up and running a successful Accountancy Practice, You can offer tools on the backend, such as a course on generating leads, or a package of marketing campaigns that have worked successfully for others
  • Say your main product is a “how to manage your debtors” course. You can offer an upsell that includes resources like a debt management checklist and workbook, and 5 personalised debt-management counselling sessions with you or one of your advisors
  • If you main product is a set of weightlifting training videos, you can offer the weights themselves as an up-sell

So the idea here is not to just toss any old offer in front of your prospects and hope for the best. Make sure your up-sell and main offer go together like… well, like Big Macs and fries.

MAJOR CAVEAT: Do NOT leave anything critical to getting the results your customer expects out of your core product, and try to offer the ‘missing piece’ as an up-sell.

You’ve probably seen offers like this before. You buy a product that promises X result, and then you are offered an up-sell that basically says “Well the thing you just purchased won’t work properly unless you also buy this other thing…”

Not only will this piss your customer off and stop them buying your up-sell, you’ll probably lose the initial sale, and the customer’s future business as well. Plus they are likely to give you negative reviews and bitch about you to everyone they know.

Not good…

OK, so next up…

2. Offer an Irresistible Deal

Putting a related offer in front of your prospects is a great way to increase your sales. But turning that offer into an irresistible, no-brainer deal is even better.

Let’s look at the fast food example again. If you order a burger with a small fries and drink, the person taking your order will likely ask you if you’d like to “super-size” your order for just a small extra charge. The reason this works so well (to the tune of BILLIONS of dollars every year) is that the deal is irresistible.

You get yourself a LOT more of what you want for just a little bit more money.

And it doesn’t matter what you’re selling, you can do the same thing in your business.

For example:

“I usually charge $997 up front and $397 per month for this sort of coaching. But as a valued member of my new Stock Trading group, you’ll get a special price of just $197 per month for this same high-quality coaching, and I’ll waive the up-front setup fee entirely…”

“And you’re not locked in. Try out the program for a full month, and if you feel it isn’t for you for any reason, let me know and I’ll give you a full refund, no questions asked…”

If you are a trader and you’ve just purchased a Stock Trading product, this sort of offer would be virtually impossible to refuse…

One more example. I know a well top marketer in the supplements market who makes an irresistible offer for his core product, and then offers an up-sell consisting of more of the exact same product for an even lower per-pack price.

So people buy 2 packs of something they know they want (and will likely continue to use) for $49.00 with free shipping, and then because they’ve just made a purchase, they are offered another FOUR packs of the exact same product for just $49.00 as a reward.

And as a result, his sales are BOOMING…

Ok, next up…

3. Make Use Of Short-Form Copy

So now you’ve got an eager prospect sitting on your order page with their credit card in their hot little hand, it is NOT the time to put another long sales letter or sales video in front of them.

They’re eager and ready to buy. If you put another intimidating wall of text or video in front of your prospects, you might just have them hitting the back button and abandoning the order form, never to be seen again.

SIDEBAR: There are plenty of studies to show that the shopping cart or order page abandonment rate runs as high as 95% for some merchants. That’s why optimising your order page to improve conversions, and minimising friction as much as possible is one way to generate a whole lot of free money.

You’ve already done the hard work of getting them into the kind of emotional state needed for them to buy, so you’ve already built your credibility and established trust to some extent.

You don’t need to do any of that again.

Now all you need to do is simply focus on the benefits and results they can achieve if they take your up-sell offer. The fact is, your up-sell page copy might be nothing more than a results-driven headline, a list of the top benefits, and a action-orientated call to action (such as Yes! I Want This“).

TIP: As with everything you do in your marketing, test to find out for sure what your audience responds to the best. Split test different headlines, your bulleted list of benefits, your call to action and your order button text. You might even test to see if short-form copy beats a short sales video.

You’ll never know until you try.

4. Frame Your Price (So You Don’t Scare People Away)

You’ve already sold your prospect on purchasing the main offer, and they’ve already agreed to whatever price you’re charging. So when you offer an up-sell, you’ll want to frame the price so that it focuses on the up-sell only.

Let’s look at an example…

Suppose you’re selling a video training course for $97, with an up-sell offer for $27 for an app.

When it comes time to ask for the order, you do NOT want to say this:

“Would you like to add the app to your order, making it a total of $124 for the course and app?”

Suddenly that sounds like it’s going to cost a lot. Your prospect is likely to start second-guessing their purchase “Do I really want this thing after all…”. And in a flash you could lose the whole sale.

Instead, make sure you focus on the price of the up-sell only: “Would you like to add the app to your order for just $27 more?”

Ahhhh… that’s so much better. That sounds like it’s doable. And because the prospect is already planning on spending $97 with you, that extra $27 doesn’t sound like such a big deal, especially when they think about the added enjoyment they will get.

It’s just like when you are buying a car. If you’re like a lot of people, by the time you’ve decided on the make, model, colour and basic accessories, and taken the car for a test drive, it’s a slam dunk for the dealer to up-sell you all sorts of other accessories to ‘personalise’ your car.

And these additional items are always presented in a non-threatening way. Well you can have metallic paint for another $3.00 a month. And a sunroof for just $4.00 a month.

Before you know it, your monthly payment is $100 more than you wanted to pay, but you’ve personalised ‘your’ car to the point where in your mind you already own it, and you just want to get the deal done. You’re excited about driving away in your new vehicle, and there’s no way you’re going to back out of the deal now.

They’ve gotcha 🙂

It’s all in how you frame it for your prospects.

5. Create a Nagging Sense Of Urgency

Nothing gets people jumping all over your fancy order button like a true sense of urgency. And a great way to create this sense of urgency is by making your upsell offer genuinely scarce.

For example, you might make your up-sell a one-time offer. That means it’s something that’s only available right now while your prospect is on the page.

If she doesn’t grab it now, she won’t be able to get it in the future. Or if the product is available somewhere else, she may be forced to pay full price (yuk!).

An example might be:

“Special one-time offer: add this exercise-planning app to your order right now, and it’s yours for 60% off the normal price. If you leave this page, this special price disappears for good… grab your discount now before it’s gone!”

6. Use A Compelling Call To Action

Good copywriting rules apply to your up-sell in the same way they do to your main offer. And that means if you just drop the order link in front of your prospects and expect them to click it, you’re going to be disappointed.

Far better instead to create a strong call to action that gets people to act now. You should tell prospects what to do next, and give them a powerful reason to do it.

For example:

Click here now to add this app to your order. And remember, this special 60% off offer disappears when you leave this page, so order now!

Your up-sell page is going to have two options.

  • One option is “Yes, add this to my order.”
  • The option on the other link is, “No thank you, I don’t want this.”

To avoid confusing your prospects, these should be the only two options on the page. People will either add the up-sell to their order and continue with their purchase, or they’ll skip your offer and just stay with their original order.

Now here’s a sneaky but powerful trick you might consider testing…

Phrase your “yes” and “no” options in a way that helps compel people to click on the “yes” option.

For example, say you’re selling some sort of weight-loss information. Your buttons might have these two options:

“Yes, I want to be ready for the beach!”

“No thanks, I don’t want to get rid of my love handles.”

See how that works?

The “yes” option focuses on they outcome they want and provides a benefit. The “no” option asks the prospect to agree with something that they probably don’t want to agree with. That’s going to make them stop and reconsider your offer.

Here’s another example:

“Yes, I want to save money on my electricity bills!”

“No, I’m not ready to save money just yet.”

And one more…

“Yes, I’ ready to find my soulmate.”

“No, I’m ok with being on my own for now.”

And finally…

7. Make It As Easy As Possible

If you followed all the tips above, you should have a prospect who’s as ready as she’ll ever be to complete her order. Now your goal is to make it as easy as possible for her to place that order and grab your up-sell.

The last thing you want at this stage is make your prospects jump through a bunch of hoops. Don’t include unnecessary steps between them and their getting their hands on their order. And don’t put obstacles that create ‘friction’ in the way.

Because if you do, your prospect is likely to lose their enthusiasm and abandon their shopping cart (as I mentioned earlier, up to 95% of people do just that…).

Here are some dos and don’ts to follow:

  • Do make it as easy as one-click. If you’re offering an upsell right after the customer has already filled in the order form, it’s critical that you make it as easy to buy the upsell as clicking one button. In other words, you do NOT want to make your prospect fill out the order form or their credit card all over again. (WARNING: Paypal often makes your customers do this)
  • Don’t make them run through a mind numbing gauntlet of up-sells. You have probably been through sales funnels that three, four, five or even more up-sells (The Warrior Forum and JVZoo are notorious for doing this crap). Quite often people can’t even get to the order form without going through 4 sales videos and accepting or declining every one of these offers.

You know yourself how painful it is to run the gauntlet like this, so don’t do that to your customers! Just put one or at most two well-placed offers in front of them and leave it at that.

  • And if they decline one or both up-sells, send them straight through to the order form. Don’t make them go through a bunch of additional offers. The customer experience sucks and will seriously decrease your conversions (and risk future sales as well).
  • Don’t make people “register” before ordering. If you need your customers to create an account, then have this account automatically created during the purchasing process. Even if the amount of “work” you’re asking the customer to do is the same, framing is the key here. If you suddenly force a customer to “create an account” before they can finish placing an order, they may just dump their cart and disappear.

Ok, so now let’s wrap things up…

You’ve no doubt heard the saying, “Strike while the iron is hot.”

When it comes to making sales, the iron is never going to be as hot as when you have a prospect filling out an order form. That’s why it’s a great time to “strike” by offering an irresistible up-sell offer they simply can’t refuse. So get started on boosting your sales by creating upsells on your order forms today – and increase your conversions using the seven proven ideas you just discovered!

Here’s How The Sideways Sales Letter Powers Product Launch Formula

Now that Jeff Walker’s Product Launch Formula launch is over for this year, it’s time for all of us students to get to work on creating our own launch. Over the next few posts as I go through the PLF training once again, I’ll be sharing my thoughts and the lessons I learn (or re-learn) along the way as I prepare to launch a new training program.

So, let’s get started…

How The Sideways Sales Letter Came To Be

For decades, one of the best ways to sell stuff to a mass audience, both in print and online, has been by using a sales letter. Now the typical sales letter uses the Problem, Agitate, Solve framework, which works pretty well as a way of helping people realise they have a problem, and explaining how a product or service can solve that problem for them.

The problem with sales letters (or sales videos) is that they don’t create a lot of value for the people reading them, and therefore they aren’t all that efficient. Typical conversions for sales letters or videos are between zero and 2%, which means there’s a lot of money left on the table

That’s why Jeff Walker came up with what he calls the Sideways Sales Letter.

Now some people looking at a launch sequence without the benefit of owning Product Launch Formula still think you can just take any old sales letter or sales video, split it into 3 pieces, and deliver it as content.

But the problem with this is there’s still not a lot of value created, and it relies on the Problem Agitate Solve framework which still doesn’t work all that well.

The Sideways Sales Letter is completely different in that it teaches, inspires, and sells over a period of time, using what Jeff calls Pre-launch Content (PLC). And he typically uses 4 videos for the content of his Sideways Sales Letters.

How To Structure Your Product Launch Formula Style Pre-launch Content

So how should this Pre-launch Content be structured, and what should you cover in your pre-launch videos (or posts, emails, podcasts or other content). Here’s how I’m going to be doing it for my next launch…

The working title of my new product is currently Digital Message Secrets, and it will show business owners and managers how to use email and text messages in unique ways to sell a lot more of their products and services with very little effort.

PLC #1 – The Opportunity

I’ll be using video for my Pre-launch Content, and my first PLC video will look at the opportunity my audience has once they understand the power of using highly personalised email and text messages to build relationships, and then promote their products and services to (and through) those people.

At this point in any product launch, most people will not be aware there is a going to be a product for sale, but I’ll be doing what Jeff and others do, and subtly ‘hinting’ that the videos they are watching are part of an upcoming launch of a new product.

The goal with this first video is to start to develop trust with your audience by sharing content that is outstanding and truly helps them to achieve a result. As Frank kern says, you want to help them by actually helping them!

Who knew that would actually work LOL?

In your first piece of PLC, you’ll want to do what I’ll be doing and teaching your people how to solve the biggest problem you KNOW they face. Throughout your training, you should sprinkle in mental triggers such as:

  • Authority (show how you know your stuff)
  • Likability (just being a nice person)
  • Social proof (reviews, testimonials, comments from others)
  • Anticipation (tell what’s coming next)
  • Proof (testimonials, screen shots of results)
  • Interaction and Conversation (have Facebook comments installed and invite people to comment below your PLC)

My audience’s biggest problem is generating very targeted leads in a cost effective way. The solution I’ll be sharing with them is a simple way they can re-purpose and re-activate many of the leads they have already generated, instead of trying to attract more new people.

I’ve spoken about this with dozens of people, and when I ask them if they ever have leads or prospects who fall through the cracks and don’t end up buying, they always say ‘YES”. So my first video will show them how to get a good percentage of those people back into the business, and then get some of them to become repeat customers or clients.

Then after I’ve helped them solve what is their biggest problem, I’m going to highlight another problem they are facing (which is being able to follow up with their audience in a low-stress, no-pitch way, that also sells heaps of products and services).

Then I’ll let them know that in the next video, I’ll show them how to solve that problem as well, which will open a mental loop that they’ll need closed before they feel comfortable again.

NOTE: In Jeff Walker’s case, he promises to teach the three types of product launches, and how to know which one is right for you and your business.

PLC#2 – The Transformation

The second PLC video should close the mental loop you opened at the end of the first video, and should teach about the potential for transformation, (in my case, how to follow up regularly while ‘selling’ without always having to ‘pitch’ products and services), and how their lives will be better once they understand how to use these personalised messages in their own business.

The goal for this video is to get people to believe that THEY can achieve the transformation. NOTE: In Jeff’s case he teaches the 3 types of launches and how to choose which one suits where you are in your business. The mental triggers you can use in this video are:

  • Authority
  • Credibility (show results and other credibility boosting elements)
  • Social proof
  • Proof
  • Likability
  • Reciprocity (people will usually want to reciprocate when you do something for them)
  • The common enemy (if possible, bring up a common enemy and position yourself on their side against this perceived enemy)
  • Reason why (giving people a reason why makes everything your doing much more believable)
  • Community (build the conversation in the comments section)

Then at the end of my second PLC video, I’ll be highlighting the next biggest problem my audience faces, and that is in not having enough products or services of their own to fully satisfy their markets desire for more stuff. I’ll promise to help them solve this problem in the third PLC video.

NOTE: The problem Jeff brings up at the end of PLC 2 is, “Well now you know the 5 major types of launches, but you also need to know the details of how to launch if you are going to do it successfully”, and he lets people know that he’s going to go through The Product Launch Blueprint in the next video (which opens another loop that people will feel the need to have closed).

PLC#3 – The Ownership Experience

In the third PLC video, your goal is to cover the ownership experience and what it’s like if people in your audience really had this transformation, along with what it’s like to own your product or service.

In my third PLC video, I’ll be sharing the simple system I have for turning any business into a ‘Distribution Centre’ for a range of high profit products and services. This system takes very little time, effort or money to implement, and gives exceptional results for just about everyone who uses it.

The mental triggers you can use in this video are:

  • Scarcity (your launch is coming to an end, and now’s the time to mention the class is coming up, and there will be some kind of deadline or limit to places)
  • Social proof
  • Proof
  • Likability
  • Reciprocity
  • The common enemy
  • Reason why

I’ll be starting off by revisiting the two techniques shared so far, and will then teach them the system for turning their business into a high profit Distribution Centre for a range of other products they don’t have to source or create, stock, handle, deliver or supply customer support for.

NOTE: In Jeff’s content he starts off by saying, “So now you know about the sideways sales letter, and you probably know which launch you are going to do, now I’ll take you through the Product Launch Blueprint” which is an overview of how to do a launch. The Blueprint is awesome, but it cannot possibly give all of the nuance and details on how to run a launch.

At the end of that video, I’ll be letting people know that my new program is starting in a few days, and in the next video I’ll give them all the details if they’d like to join up.

PLC#4 – The Open Cart/Sales Video

In the 4th piece of pre-launch content, you release your sales video or sales letter. The format of this content is (courtesy of Frank Kern as taught to him by John Carlton):

  • Here’s what I’ve got
  • Here’s what it will do for you
  • Here’s what to do next

When people have gone through your prelaunch content and you have helped them by actually helping them, and if you present your audience with a great offer, this 3 step process works like gangbusters for converting people into clients and customers.

In his 4th PLC, Jeff releases the sales video that explains a very compelling offer for PLF, and invites people to join.

Once you’ve released your Sales Video, you’re in the ‘Open Cart’ period, which we’ll cover in another post.
